This was for prompt #3 of the #InkBrushChallenge which entailed putting your own spacey interpretation on the quote in the piece from Terry Pratchett using only one of the brushes provided during the series of challenges. I opted to use a bonus dark paper background that was supplied during the challenge as well. I included some of my favorite constellations of Orion and Cancer, as well as various styles of stars which are a favorite of mine with some other fun spacey elements like ringed planets and comets to accompany my lettering.
This was for prompt #2 "Feed Your Inner Fool" of the #InkBrushChallenge which entailed combining your favorite food item with a pun, using only brushes provided. I am a huge fan of pizza (which isn't really?) and have weekly pizza nights with my family, sister's family, and my parents. As I have done a previous version of this particular pun before, I felt compelled to try a different perspective on the pizza as well as completing a second piece (below) for this challenge.
This was for prompt #2 "Feed Your Inner Fool" of the #InkBrushChallenge which entailed combining your favorite food item with a pun, using only brushes provided. As I had already done a food pun previously, I completed 2 pieces for this particular challenge. Having recently seen some latte art, as well as being a coffee drinker and fan of skull art, I thought this pun was a great fit.
The prompt for the first project in the series was "Flex Your Flavor Flash Sheet." This entailed creating your own flash sheet, using the brushes provided, that was all about you. In my flash sheet you'll see my love for my family with their initials, my love for Harry Potter, Disney, and Pixar, citrus and hibiscus for living in Florida most of my life and a beautiful rose that I associate with my parents (who were florists when I was very little) and being born in New York, which we left when I was 8. My pup Luna's actual paw print is featured as is a song quote from Frozen 2 - as this challenge took place in spring of 2020, I found myself navigating the pandemic and always just trying to "do the next right thing."
After participating in the challenge, I felt great that I was able to make time to complete this on top of the stressors of the pandemic, navigating working from home, while also managing virtual school for my kids. I was one of three winners of the full brush set as the grand prize.
